A team of 1,100 volunteers came out onto the streets of Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich to deliver The Vitality Big Half and helped make the event truly memorable for runners and spectators alike.
From the Start Wave marshals on site at Tower Bridge at 06:30, to the course marshals, relay teams, drink station teams, finish area volunteers and Vitality Big Festival Ambassadors, everyone came together, bringing a huge amount of enthusiasm, knowledge and passion to their roles.
Many were volunteering for the very first time and there were also a significant number of volunteer groups from the four boroughs in which the event took place – see list of volunteer groups below:
- Lewisham Southwark College
- Volunteer Centre Tower Hamlets
- Community Southwark
- Volunteer Centre Greenwich
- University of Greenwich
- AMOS Sport Business School (Greenwich)
- Manorfield Primary School (Tower Hamlets)
- Tower Hamlets Rotary Club
- Southwark Scouts
- Tower Hamlets Police Cadets
- Greenwich Police Cadets
- Lewisham Police Cadets
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to come and join the team, we couldn't do it without you.
Details of how to join the volunteer team for the 2019 Vitality Big Half will appear here in due course.
