The Big Half

  • I have not received my Event Pack what should I do?

    If you have not received a pack by the time you get your post on Monday 16 August please email

  • When does the race start?

    The Vitality Big Half will start over a two-hour period between 08:30 to 10:30.

  • When will I receive my Event Day instructions?

    These will be sent approximately 10 days before Event Day so please keep an eye on your emails for updates.

  • What Covid-19 safety measures will be in place at 2021 event?

    We have planned every element of the event very carefully and reduced dwell time and touch points at the start, on the course and at the finish.

  • Do I need to wear a face covering while I am at the venue for The Big Half?

    No, there is no requirement to wear a face covering when outdoors.

  • Do I need to provide a negative Covid-19 test to take part?

    No, this is not required, but we do encourage all participants take a lateral flow test on Saturday 21 August.

  • Do I need to have had a Covid-19 vaccination to take part?

    No, this is not required.

  • Can I drive to the event and, if so, where are the nearest car parks? 

    We do not encourage you to drive into central London.

  • Can spectators come and watch me?

    We ask that spectators do not come to the Finish at Cutty Sark as there is reduced capacity here this year.

  • Can I move my start time back in order to run with a friend or family member?

    Yes, you can move your start time back (but you cannot move forward) as long as it is in the North or South wave you have been allocated.

  • Will there be toilets on the course?

    Yes, there will be toilets, including those with disabled access, at the Start, Finish and at various locations on the course (including after each Drinks Station).

  • I am walking the event and will be at a slower pace – is there a cut-off time? 

    We welcome participants of all abilities and participants have up to four hours to complete the event.

  • Will there be water on the course and finish? 

    Yes, there are water stations at Miles 3,6 and 10 as well as a Lucozade Sport station at Mile 8.

  • Where do I collect my medal and T-shirt? 

    These items will be in your finisher bag.

  • Where and when can I see my result?

    Results will be on The Big Half website by Monday 23 August.
