What is The Vitality Big Half?

The Vitality Big Half is a community running festival. This one-day event offers a host of running distances, from a challenging half marathon to a free one-mile course, as well as a family-friendly festival of food, music and activities.

This event is for everyone, no matter your age, background or running ability. This is a world-class running event that supports and encourages first-time runners to take part.

When is it?

The 2020 edition of The Vitality Big Half will take place on Sunday 1 March.

What are the events in The Vitality Big Half?

The Vitality Big Half is London's community half marathon, starting by Tower Bridge and finishing at the Cutty Sark, passing through the boroughs of Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Lewisham and Greenwich. The race will also feature some of the world's best distance runners.

The New Balance Big Relay enables a team of four runners to take on The Vitality Big Half, running 13.1 miles through Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich.

The Little Half will be held on a 2.4 mile route with a stunning Finish Line by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. It's the perfect opportunity to take part in your first official timed running event.

The Vitality Big Mile invites first-time runners, walkers and families with children of all ages to take part in a free mass participation fun run round around Greenwich Park.

The Vitality Big Festival

Held in Greenwich Park, The Vitality Big Festival celebrates London’s diversity with a huge range of food, music and entertainment. There will be local traders serving food from around the world, music playing throughout the day, performances from community groups and fun activities and fitness classes for the whole family to enjoy.

What is the route?

The route for The Vitality Big Half starts by Tower Bridge and finishes at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, passing through four London boroughs of Southwark, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich.

What is the minimum age for The Vitality Big Half?

Runners in The Vitality Big Half must be 17 on Race Day. Younger runners will be eligible to participate in The Big Relay and The Little Half.

What is the entry fee?

General entry places are £46.

What are the other ways of getting a place in The Vitality Big Half?

A number of charities will have guaranteed entries for The Vitality Big Half. See our charity page for the list of charities with guaranteed entries available.

What are the community entries?

Community groups from the four host boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich can apply for discounted £10 places in the event.

The group or charity must be based in or work mainly in one or more of the host boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Southwark, Lewisham or Greenwich to be eligible for the Community Entries.

If you have a general or resident entry, Good for Age entry or Championship entry, log on to your RealBuzz Members Hub to make the change straight away.

If you secured your place via a charity, community group or any other type of guaranteed entry, please email changeofaddress@londonmarathonevents.co.uk with your full name, date of birth and confirmation of what details are changing. Our Helpdesk team will then confirm once the change has been made.
