We Run As One

We Run As One training plan

Our 10-week We Run As One training plan helps you prepare for your half marathon by breaking down your training into three simple sessions a week.

But we didn’t want to stop there! We believe following a training plan is an ideal opportunity for you to focus on your overall mental and physical wellbeing. So we’ve given you some ideas for activities and reflection on the days when you’re not running.

Why do you think people should take up running?
It’s the best thing you could ever do. You’ll be so surprised what your body can do when you take time with it. If you have any goals to lose weight, get fit or fill any spare time you have, running is a great way to get moving.

Have you run The Big Half previously? If so, what did you think of it?
Yes, I ran it last year. It was an amazing experience and I’m doing it all again this year too. So please sign up and join me on the road!

Why do you think people should get involved in The Big Half?
This event is for everyone of all ages, cultures, body shapes and fitness levels. It’s inclusive so everyone can join. The Big Half has really worked hard on helping to diversify this event so hard-to-reach groups feel included. Not many people want change, but I’m pleased that The Big Half wants everyone involved.

Why is it important for you to be part of this event and come together with others to ‘run as one’?
This event is very diverse, which is why I enjoy taking part. Running Sees No Colour, which is why I support the We Run As One campaign to help promote the event to each and every one of you.

What are you most looking forward to about this year’s event?
Running the course, meeting and running with my family and friends, meeting new people, new runners, collecting my finisher’s medal and T-shirt and taking loads of photos along the way!
