Championship Entry

The 2018 race

The Vitality Big Half will host the 2018 British Half Marathon Championships on Sunday 4 March after British Athletics appointed London Marathon Events Limited to organise the Championships.

The Championships will also serve as the final selection event for the British team for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships which take place in Valencia on Saturday 24 March.

Applications to run in the 2018 British Half Marathon Championships are now closed.

Please note: if you were successful in obtaining a place but did not make payment by the deadline of 17:00 on 2 February 2018, you will lose your place.

Do I qualify?

Male runners must have achieved sub 75 minutes and female runners sub 85 minutes at a half marathon since 1 January 2016 to enter the British Half Marathon Championships.

Additionally, you must be a member of an athletics club associated with British Athletics and you must be registered with your National Governing Body (i.e. England Athletics, Scotland Athletics, Welsh Athletics, or Athletics Northern Ireland). If you are not sure whether you are registered, please check with your NGB.

You must meet all of the criteria, otherwise your application will be rejected.

If you do not meet the qualifying time, you may still be eligible to apply for a Good for Age place.
