The Vitality Big Half 2021
Following the government announcement on Monday 22 February of the planned roadmap out of lockdown, it’s clear it is not possible to deliver The Vitality Big Half as planned on Sunday 25 April.
The event will now take place on Sunday 22 August 2021.
Community entries into the event remain open for groups that wish to take part on Sunday 22 August, and any existing entries will be transferred to the 22 August date. If you are unable to use your entries on that date, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

We Run As One
We are developing a campaign for The Vitality Big Half 2021, based around #WeRunAsOne as a way of highlighting the need to engage under-represented communities and individuals and bring people together to experience the mental and physical health benefits of running after what has been a very challenging 2020 for many of us.
Supporting local communities
Since the first edition of the event in 2017, we have supported local communities by offering a special £10 community entry route, and we have done this again for The Vitality Big Half in 2021.
As organisers of The Vitality Big Half, our vision is Inspiring Activity, which is why we make these community places available to inspire under-represented communities to take part. We want everyone to feel equal, included and free to be themselves. We believe passionately that our events should reflect and represent the ethnic and cultural diversity of our communities.
To realise this ambition, we will prioritise providing community entries to groups that actively work to include under-represented communities, in particular Black, Asian and minority ethnic participants.
We define a community group as a local group or organisation, sports club, school or local charity in London that delivers benefits to its community. Eligible groups can be formal or informal, but must operate in London and support local residents. Please note that national and international charities are not eligible for community entries and must enter via the charity entry route.
Please note that each year there are a limited number of community entries and we cannot guarantee that a group that has had community entries in previous years will be allocated community entries in the current year.
